Community Investment at PotashCorp

At PotashCorp, we believe in building communities. We support initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the regions where we operate and reflect the goals and values of our company. We strive to develop relationships that create value for PotashCorp and our community partners.

Funding Criteria

We focus our funding in the areas of food solutions, community building and education and training

Our Corporate Community Investment Committee selects applications that best meet our Community Investment objectives. The Committee evaluates all proposals using consistent, pre-determined decision-making criteria, with larger investments having to meet more stringent criteria than smaller projects. This helps ensure that PotashCorp's most significant investments strongly align with the goals and objectives of the Community Investment Program, while providing flexibility for smaller grassroots initiatives.

Details about the program can be found on our website at Please visit all tabs in this section to learn about our framework, objectives, pillars and lenses.

The following are ineligible for Community Investment funding, however may be eligible for in-kind support:

  • Individuals' fundraising efforts
  • Telephone solicitations
  • For-profit entities
  • Private clubs funded through membership fees
  • Travel, accommodation, meal expenses, field trips or tours for individuals, groups or teams
  • Religious organizations (unless they provide support to all members of the public)
  • Organizations that discriminate based on ethnic origin, gender, sexuality, colour, language, national or social origin, economic status, religion, political or other conscientiously held beliefs
  • Organizations which rely upon PotashCorp as their sole funder
  • Political organizations and political parties
  • Professional associations
  • Advocacy groups
  • Film/video productions
  • Local sports teams, leagues and sporting events
  • Organizations or projects that conflict with PotashCorp's interests and values

Response Time

PotashCorp receives many worthwhile funding requests each year and unfortunately, we cannot support all of them. Please allow a minimum of 6 weeks for your application to be reviewed and responded to. If applications are received less than 6 weeks in advance, we may not be able to respond before the event date. As larger investments will be evaluated against more stringent criteria they should be submitted even further in advance. Only 1 application per calendar year, per project will be considered for funding.

Online Application

All requests must be made online; this gives us the relevant information about your initiative and allows us to fully evaluate your request. All information provided will be kept confidential.  You will have the ability to include attachments toward the end of the application and we strongly encourage you to include any additional supporting documentation (such as a sponsorship package) as this may help with the evaluation of your request.

You will have 4 hours to complete and submit your application.  If you have not submitted the application within this time you will be required to restart the application process.

Upon submission of your application you will receive an email confirmation, including a PDF copy of your application. If we have questions regarding your application, we will contact you at the telephone number or email address you have provided.

Should you have any additional questions please contact us at

Thank you for considering PotashCorp as a potential sponsor and  for your contribution to our community!
